Figo Pet Insurance

Figo is a pet insurance provider based in Chicago. Users can find competitive plans, informative blog posts, and a fully comprehensive pet app. Making it the most interactive and helpful pet insurance provider on the market.

Figo is currently going through a brand refresh. As the Brand Designer for Figo, I provided art direction for the brand book and developed a set of custom iconography for our mobile app. In addition, I also provided social and email templates along with branded flyers and print ads for our partner Costco.

Figo wanted to remain thoughtful throughout the rebrand process. Social media remains a space where designers get to break from convention, but no matter what one thing stays true: a post must be attention grabbing. We settled on using our vibrant brand colors and shapes to drive engagement while ensuring a consistent look across all posts.

We never wanted the design to feel exclusive. Through these new pieces we were able to figure out where design needed to be more approachable. For example, we knew that our Costco placements would be viewed by a 40+ age demographic. Because of this we showcase imagery that reflected this group and used color combinations that are more subtle and used the vibrant Poppy and Citron colors sparingly.

For emails, we knew we could be a little more experimental again. The pattern, inspired by Dalmatian spots, can be pulled through more often and the illustrations can give more personality while maintaining approachability.

The color palette lends itself very well to this. The Figo Mint and Deep Blue are revamped shades from our original palette. Those two in combination with the Cream offers a more relaxed and professional feel. Adding the Poppy and Citron gives a punchiness and works as an attention grabber. Showing that even pet insurance can be playful.
